Amy Friend
Intentional Piecing: Using Fussy Cutting in Quilt Designs
This approximately one hour long trunk show will focus on the quilts found in Amy's book, Intentional Piecing, but may include additional quilts as well. Amy will use these quilts to illustrate types of fussy cutting and to discuss fabric selection in general. How can you pick the best fabric for a pattern? How can a pattern really showcase a fabric design?

Challenge Quilts
Challenge Quilts will be revealed, celebrated and voted on during our April meeting.
The UFO Auction was such a busy evening that the Challenge Quilt Reveal had been postponed to April.
This month is also busy with our outstanding guest speaker
but let's make time to appreciate the talent involved in responding to our challenge.

What's a Challenge Quilt?
Typically, every other year (the years that we host a Quilt Show), the guild offers members an optional Seabreeze Challenge Quilt opportunity.
The Chair of the program (Chris Randall for this year) chooses a theme, rules and fabrics for participants. Even though our guild is not hosting a Quilt Show this year, we've decided to go ahead with our Challenge Quilt as a way for us to enjoy the camaraderie of a guild related contest and celebrating it among the guild, because, yay!
Sooo, who is involved? In August, Chris took names of people who were interested in the Challenge (yes, it's before we see the fabric or know the rules, which is part of the FUN!), and she purchased fabric. In this case, [five] 1/4-yard cuts of fabric, for which we paid $15 to participate. Members received their packets of fabric and the Rules for this challenge. Everyone who attends the April meeting will be able to Vote on 5 different categories of the quilts and there are Fabulous awards! It's a guild wide celebration!
