Come join us at the October meeting for an informative presentation by Beth Sullivan of Beth Sullivan Designs T-Shirt Quilt Basics This one-hour lecture covers the basics of preparation of clothing, how to determine which layout will work given the clothing presented, grid vs. variable layouts and the basics of construction. Variable layout design and use of partial seams will be explained as well as what to look for in the design stage to make assembly easier. A Little about Beth
"I have been making T-shirt quilts for over 20 years. To date, I have made over 1000 quilts and pillows along with many hundreds of memorial ornaments. In addition to making these special items for customers, I lecture to quilt guilds and teach classes in the use of interesting materials in quilts. I like to say that if it can be washed, sewn, and made to lie flat, it can go in a quilt! I am also an instructor at Creative Spark Online Learning where I publish video courses on making T-shirt quilts and pillows if you want to try this yourself."
"I live in Bellingham, Massachusetts with my husband and three children. I am a rom-com audiobook addict and used to love crocheting until I found quilting. In 2000, I was teaching First Grade and took a learn to quilt course at the local community education group. I was hooked. I eventually made myself a T-shirt quilt and when people saw it, they asked if I would consider making one for them. In 2003, I left teaching to stay home with my daughter and the part-time business was created. Eventually, my kids were all in school and I went full-time with the business. I love that something I create is so meaningful to my customers."
