Overview of the Annual UFO Auction
Each member who chooses to, creates her own collection of things to donate. These are typically items from her stash/sewing space. Fabric, notions, tools, books, patterns, or partially finished projects all make great offerings. Group items together as attractive packages for your individual contribution to the auction. The details You can creatively make a list of the contents or let your packaging display the contents. Gather your items and package them either in a fabric ribbon, a basket, some cellophane ..., however you like! Put your name on it (because if it doesn't get bid on, it goes back home with you) Each package becomes an item for the silent auction. You use your assigned number to make your best bid. You can audit the list and bid multiple times. Highest bid listed at the end of the bidding time wins the package. We'll need a few volunteers to help as runners and organizers for the evening. Please jump in to make this a fun and efficient evening! FAQs Who gets the money? A portion of the proceeds goes to the New England Quilt Museum and a portion of the proceeds helps to fund our guild activities. Can you make more than one auction package/ item? YES! There is no limit on the number of packages you can bring. Be sure each is inviting so it will receive bids and not have to return home with you. Will there be a LIVE Auction for bigger items such as Quilts and Finished Quilt Blocks in March? NO! The Live Auction will take place during a different month. More on that in an upcoming month. Do you have to bring an item for the auction? NO! Bringing your checkbook and bidding is as important as bringing an item for the auction! Tuesday, March 11 at 6:30pm
